Hi. My name is Kelvin. I am a Jarhead (United States Marine). I was bit by the BBQ bug early and spent plenty of summers (and winters) BBQing for friends and family. A few years ago, I decided to get serious and bought a large offset smoker on a trailer (Brenda) and started competing in local BBQ competitions. I have appeared on
BBQ Pitmasters (Season 5 Episode 6 - The Wildcard Episode) and an episode of BBQ Crawl with Diva Q (Season 3 Episode 6 - Big Apple BBQ). I have appeared in Long Island Newsday's "Who's Cooking" section with my recipe for Beer Braised Pork Chops. I am a KCBS (Kansas City BBQ Society) menber and certified BBQ Judge.
I have competed in several BBQ competitions including the Historic Richmond Town's NYC BBQ Cookoff, Battle of the BBQ Brethren in Manorville, Greenport Harbor Brewery's Beer, BBQ and Blues Contest. I have won numerous awards and I was Grand Champion at the Centerport Fire Dept BBQ Cookoff in 2016 and Grand Champion at the Hicksville Fire Dept BBQ Cookoff in 2016. As a proud member of The BBQ Brethren, I have assisted with volunteer cooks for Ronald McDonald House, the VA Hospital in Northport and other charities.
